Kansans Can Competency Framework

Download the Kansans Can Competency Framework elementary curricula to teach self-regulation and self-efficacy (K–2 and 3–6). Once you have downloaded the PDF files, you can share them with all educators and counselors in your school.

The Kansans Can Competency Framework empowers students to take ownership of their learning and build confidence. These trauma-informed, Tier 1 SEL instructional practices personalize learning and foster prosocial behavior. The evidence-based curricula include instructional activities, formative assessment, and numerous teaching resources. The curricula and professional learning opportunities are sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education.

To learn about implementing this instruction in your school, sign up for upcoming virtual training with coaching that accompanies this curricula: https://www.ksdetasn.org/competency/training-opportunities. Winter virtual trainings are specific to Self-Regulation (K–2 or 3–6) and Self-Efficacy (K–2 or 3–6). These professional learning opportunities are capped at 40 participants, so sign up quickly.
